Brazilian peace activists held a symbolic protest using stones in downtown Rio de Janeiro on Monday, May 11, denouncing widespread violence in the Latin American country. Rio de Paz (Peace Rio) NGO activists placed 17,000 stones on the ground to represent the victims of violence killed during the past 28 months in the state of Rio.
